This has been the longest winter I
can remember since I first arrived in this country in
1978. The daffodils are only now beginning to bring their lovely colour
to front gardens and roadsides, and carpets of bluebells have made a
very welcome appearance amongst the lifeless undergrowth.

As we sit in lovely late summer sunshine this issue of the villager is
drawing us forward
to the autumn and the change in season and activity. The volume of
traffic in the
parish has increased, indicating that the academic term has begun.
