Baptisms
Baptism marks the beginning of Christian discipleship and welcome into the life of the church.  As the family of the church we welcome new members into the church during the St Barnabas 10.00am Parish Communion services.  If you live in the parish of St Barnabas or are a member of the congregation please ring the Parish Office on Tuesday or Thursday to discuss a date and to receive more information.

Marriage in St Barnabas or Christ’s Chapel
Congratulations on your engagement. The legalities about which church(es) you may have a marriage service in are fixed at a national level. The place to look for the full information is www.yourchurchwedding.org.  If you meet one of the Qualifying Connections for marriage in the parish then please contact the Parish Office and ask Marilyn Kanes to send you our Marriage Question and Answer Sheet. In addition to the Qualifying Connections listed at www.yourchurchwedding.org if either of you are current members of staff or alumni of one of the Foundation Schools (Dulwich College, James Allen's Girls' School, James Allen's Prep School, Alleyn's School, Alleyn's Junior School) you may be able to apply to the Archbishop of Canterbury for a Special Licence to be married in the parish.  For more information about this please contact the Parish Office.  It will help your early planning to know that all marriage services take place on Saturdays.  There are NO marriage services in the parish between the third Saturday in July and the first Saturday in September, inclusive, nor in the seasons of Lent or Advent.  It is our experience that couples who have booked the venue for the Reception before booking the church are often disappointed to learn that we can rarely offer you your first choice of date.
