The Parish is vibrant and not just on Sundays, there are lots of groups that meet during the week. From Social Responsibility to Housegroups and from Older People’s groups to Youth groups, there really is something for everyone; you will also find details about Sunday school and when these groups take place.

Everyone who attends St Barnabas and Christ's Chapel is welcome to join one of the groups that meet throughout the parish. Groups are an excellent way to get to know one another better in a smaller setting than after a parish service. The Housegroups and Study Groups provide a great way of strengthening our own faith and exploring what our discipleship means for us, our families and our community.

When?

Sundays

Children up to age 3
There is a crèche during the 10.00am service. The crèche is provided to allow parents to leave their children and join the service. It is staffed at a ratio of 1:6. Parents are welcome to spend part of the time with their children for the purpose of helping them settle in, for a few weeks if necessary. The space in the crèche is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Quiet Room
This is for those parents, grandparents and carers who need to feed small babies, or who have not-yet- mobile babies who need a quieter, less crowded environment. We ask that this room is kept quiet and peaceful so that sleeping babies are not disturbed.

Children over 3 but not yet in Reception Class
Scramblers is the group for you! This groups meets in Room 4. This is staffed on a 1:12 basis so children who arrive late will need to have an adult stay with them. It is appreciated if these extra helpers ask the leader how they can assist in the lesson.  If you do arrive late with your child please respect the fact that the lesson has already started and you will need to help your child engage with what’s going on.

Reception
Junior Climbers meets in Room 3. This is staffed on a 1:12 basis.

Years 1 and 2

Parents' Newsletter: Spring 2008
You may not be aware of how our Sunday School is organised, especially if you’re new to the church. Sunday School is organised in roughly the same lines as school years and terms. Before children start Sunday School many of them become accustomed to being without their parents for a short time by going to the crèche.
